A blog dedicated to a man I love... I don't know what it is about Dharmendra, but I just think he's the bomb. I started this blog to express my love for him. Since then, it's become my space to talk about movies, and especially movies made in India and/or by Indians. I still have nothing but love for Dharam though - he could quite easily be my grandfather, but I still think he's the bomb...

Hello DG,
Yes I remember seeing her recently in Khandan, but I was so (how shall I put it) busy looking at Nutan, I didn't really take notice of her enough. But feisty she was, and your post makes me think I'll have to see more of her!
cheers
Beautiful, beautiful. Especially the last two screen caps.
Have you seen Humraaz and Aadmi aur Insaan? Mumtaz is especially gorgeous in those.
A very beautiful woman indeed. She somehow reminds me a little of the actress Charlize Theron though (especially in the 2nd and 14th pictures).
yves: Nutan was very beautiful indeed (such a lovely serenity about her face), so I can definitely understand all your attention being on her! In the early days of her career, Mumtaz played a lot of supporting characters... she was second-banana to Nutan, Sharmila Tagore, Mala Sinha etc in quite a few films, and she seems to have always done a really good job.
dustedoff: Haven't seen either one yet, have been trying to get my hands on 'Aadmi Aur Insaan' in particular. Hopefully someday soon...
shell: I can definitely see the resemblance! Especially in the 14th...
I pyar Mumtaz too, i fell in love with her in khilona, its the film that got her a filmfare best actress award. Watch that if you can, this was the song that started the craze and perhaps Mumtaz at her dancing best

Mumu rules over everything. Another of her considerable skills was that she made a great "pair" with just about every hero she acted with (which was most of them!)...she always made the romance sparkle.
